Bob Handley

Bob put Fairway, Kansas on the map with his numerous P.B.A. T.V. appearances. His 31 Years in Kansas will never be forgotten. In an era when most bowlers faltered on the tour, Bob cashed for over $50,000 his first year. By comparison earl Anthony made less than $100 his first year.

When Bob first bowled on the tour, you couldn't buy a big hooking ball. He was in elite company because of the big hook he could put on a normal ball. Bob was a favorite of famed announcer Chris Shinkle, who referred to him as "hooking Handly".

Bob was a member of the S & H bowling team, who sponsored him while he was on the tour, his first four years. While being a P.B.A. member for over 25 year he was one of the most friendly and approachable players on tour. strangers wanted to meet Bob and he has no trouble doing so, as he was always just one of the guys. .

Bob has just recently started bowling again. A hand injury sidelined him for several months. When he gets back to full strength he will be a force to be dealt with on the senior tour. Bob's record is clearly one of the best in Kansas history and being inducted into the Kansas State Bowling Association's Hall of Fame is a deserving honor! He has 12-800 series, 32 -300 games., 7-299 games and 6-298 games/ He was inducted into the Pittsburg, Kansas Hall of Fame in 1985 and the Florida State Hall of Fame in 2003. Bob's record clearly one of the best in Kansas history and being elected into the Kansas State Hall of Fame is a deserving honor! Congratulations to "Hooking Handley".
